Welcome!

My name is Claire Lundberg and I love wool. I live in Albany, Oregon, with my husband and our triplets (two girls and a boy, who are currently 7 years old). Wool Spin Ewe LLC was started in March of 2021 with a specific goal in mind: to offer wool from Pacific Northwest farms in small quantities for the handspinner.

Why wool? Wool is an amazing fiber. It can insulate from cold, and help regulate your body temperature when it's hot outside. It's durable, renewable, naturally odor-resistant, and moisture wicking.

Why the Pacific Northwest? It's where I live! Oregon is home to a thriving community of fiber enthusiasts, sheep farmers, and fiber festivals. Many breeds of sheep do well in our temperate climate with just about all the popular breeds for handspinning represented.

Why small quantities? When I learned to spin, I jumped in with both feet and bought an entire raw wool fleece to hand process. It was a good 6 or 7 pounds of wool, and it proved to be a daunting task to get it all washed, carded, and spun. I was ready to move on to other breeds long before it was done! I quickly realized that there was no way I was going to be able to try all the different kinds of wool I wanted to try if I bought an entire fleece for each one! It seemed like there was a place in the market for someone to offer small quantities of raw wool, and I decided that someone was going to be me! I still get to try ALL THE WOOL and introduce other fiber artists to the joys of working with raw wool.

I've branched out into offering roving, batts, and washed locks, but buying and selling raw wool will always be my favorite.
